We are storing our maps on another website, www.UploadingIt.com, so we can save space on this site. To access the map library click the link below. Before your first use, you should read all the instructions below.
MAP LIBRARY
Our user name is: silverwheels
Password is: mapfiles
Once the UploadingIt site opens, you need to LOGIN using the USERNAME and PASSWORD shown above. This will open up to the HOME FOLDER. It shows the main folders we have there, by category, such as photos or ride maps. If you want to access maps, click on the bar with the name RIDE MAPS on it. This will open up to a longer list of folders with city names. We have categorized our maps according to the city where the ride originates. Click on the folder name of the town from where you want a map, and it will open up to show what maps we have originating from that city. The map titles should have a distance indicated too to help you decide. Click on the bar of the map name and a new page opens. A blue box will instruct you to click here to download.Click on the file box and it will automatically start to download to your computer. (If you have blockers turned on you might get a small message at the top of your screen saying to click there to allow pop-ups... another screen may open asking to approve the action. All this depends on which operating system you use.) Once the file is downloaded, it is on your computer to do with as you please (save to another location or open and print).
We currently have over 100 maps available to members. Most are for Oberlin and Wellington because the leaders who lead rides from those cities have been most active in submitting maps for storage.
If you have a map to share with the club for publication on the website, contact Ed Stewart or Dan Hornbeek for submission. If your map is in printed form only, we need to scan it first then place it on the site. if you have a map that is already in digital format (jpg or pdf), send it to either Dan or Ed via email. A resolution of about 1 Mb for a page 8.5" X 11" is adequate.
To be considered for publication, maps must be very legible, and need to have the starting place and distance clearly indicated. Maps in black and white are preferred because most users will not necessarily have a color printer. Poorly prepared maps will not be used. If you also have a cue sheet we can use that as well. If all you have is a cue sheet we would prefer that ypu prepare a map also and send both.
